An excellent way to clearly define your Strength Zone® in writing is to create a Personal Brand Statement, PBS. William Arruda and Kirsten Dixson discuss this process in detail in their book “Career Distinction”. However, a simplistic approach is to take a look at your values, personality, talents, what you do best, what activities energize you the most, where you get the most satisfaction, where you can deliver the most value, essentially your Strength Zone®, and articulate this in a brief sentence.
For example, my Strength Zone® centers around building business processes and structure, strategizing and communications…my passions are helping people find their Strength Zone®….my PBS could be:
I use my extensive marketplace experience in project execution, business processes, business efficiency, innovation and the Strength Zone® discovery process to lead, manage and inspire all those around me to unleash their human potential and reach their highest level of success professionally and personally.
Once you have your PBS complete, the next step in this process is to ensure that you are living the personal brand statement in every aspect of your life. The statement is no good unless you are truly modeling it.
